ABSTRACT
Brain abscesses are focal suppurative infections surrounded by a vascularized capsule of parenchymal tissue of the brain. Infection is usually caused by mastoidit, chronic otitis media, sinusitis, neighboring focal points such as dental caries, penetrating head injury or after neurosurgical interventions. The present case was that 34 years old female patient who has epileptic seizures and hemiparesis and not a known diseaseand the operation history. At first it was thought that might be a mass, and the operation was planned. Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) have determined before the operation. However,it was defined as brain abscesses by operation and etiologic agent was identified as Streptococcus constellatus ssp pharyngis by microbiological examination. The patient was discharged tohome after appropriate medical treatment. It was thought that PAVM may be predisposing factor for the case of brain abscess.
